    Hi all.

i have just used ebays live chat to report this shill bidding......according to the rep i spoke to there is no evidence of shill bidding occuring lol.

Are ebay totally blind ? i actually had a right go at the rep .. i told him that maybe ebay turned a blind eye to shill bidding as the higher price an item sells for the higher ebays cut !

    Its just pointless......
eBay don't care about anything as long as they get their fees, fees, and paypal fees from everyone. They just pretend to care occasionally if the media kicks up a fuss.

It seems something has happened as some bids have been retracted, some items have finished early and unsold (yesterday they had bids on). So maybe for once ebay have finally paid attention.

My Sister in law once had her account suspended by Ebay for shill bidding (she had been using her daugher's account to make false bids on her own items!) but it was only suspended for about a week or so. Hardly a deterrent to other people thinking they might do the same!!

having come across a shill ring of six different - all linked - accounts and reported to ebay with no action on their part i have to agree with other poster on their complete disregard for the matter. i wouldn't now dream of buying anything on ebay without checking all other rival bidders and doing a detective search on them all.

    Hi there.
As i mentioned in my previous post i contacted ebay today and had a right go at them !

I dont think its fair to other ebayers the way this seller had behaved.

I also contacted the seller and told him/her that i was aware of what was happening.

They have sent me three or four emails today saying that this "other bidder" is just someone who buys a lot of their stuff,.......seems to me like someone was panicing lol

I had been bidding on a Ds lite, when suddenly a new user/bidder to ebay made 4 bids jumping the price from £6.50 to my max bid of £75 well before finishing time. I thought this was fishy and reported it to ebay. I have had no reply!
I have won the item and have held of paying the seller, do I bite the bullet and pay up? or what will happen to my ebay account for non payment?
    Thanks in advance

Ebay I'm afraid will do nothing. If you do not pay you will get a stike from ebay for non payment. The problem now is you do not know who is a real bidder or just another fake account set up to boost up the price. They could be a real buyer but you never know.
In the future I would not put bids on too early or certainly not the final price you want to pay. There are several auction sniper sites that place a bid on your behalf second before the end of the auction. Several of these allow you about 3 snipes a week for free.
