Advice for first time Buyer

  • Marlow is a very expensive place - I know first hand as my company's office is there.

I also know that many of the people working in Marlow live in Maidenhead and surrounding areas as it's cheaper, with a short commute. Marlow may well be the 'Knutsford' of the South, but like Knutsford, there are many areas with much bigger (and cheaper) properties located only a short drive away.

£350k is a lot of money for a first time buyer to come up with. At that price range, a buyer like you is gold dust and I would take the story of another FTB with a pinch of salt. If indeed they do exist, the fact that they are back for a third viewing would suggest to me that they're having difficulty either finding somewhere suitable or justifying the price tag.

I go along with what's already been said. Keep your offer at what you think it is worth and try to ignore the fact that there may be another interested party; if you really don't know what the house is worth, then you should be viewing several more houses to get a better feel for what offers value for money in your area.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
