Emailing seller but no reply

Hi. I’d like to run this situation by some experienced Ebayers please
On Friday I bid and won a wardrobe which was a collection only item.
I contacted the seller immediately after the auction via Ebay messaging to arrange collection and ask how they’d prefer to be paid but received no reply so tried again on Saturday. Again no reply.
Today I have requested the contact details of the seller from Ebay and now have a phone number for him.
As I was wary of receiving a NPB, I have now also paid by Paypal (I did ask if he’d prefer cash but like I say, not a word).
My gut feeling is that the seller isn’t happy with the final price and doesn’t want to sell. They also may not be too familiar with Ebay as they only have 11 feedbacks all for buying.
My questions are:
- Is it too early to ring him? Maybe I’m being too quick off the mark and I don’t want to seem too hassley if it’s someone I’m going to be dealing with in person but I’m a bit concerned by the silence?
- Did I do the right thing by paying? It did cross my mind he was ignoring me til I paid but I assume people prefer cash.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

It could be that they are away for the weekend, are busy or only have Mon-Fri internet access. Didn't think about the ending time when they listed. You've paid, so you've covered yourself against a NPB.
I would be tempted to wait until tomorrow evening though before phoning.
I won a collection only item a few weeks ago & got no response to my emails, when I phoned the seller explained that they'd been busy & hadn't managed to check the emails.0 -
