Loose floor tiles

Options
Have had to take up three ceramic floor tiles that had lost their bonding to the base, if that makes any sense.:(

I now have three tiles, which were all cut to size in the first instance, and I have no replacements to cut, and so have to use these three.

Problem is that they have the tile 'cement' on the bottom of them, and i want to remove it so that I can have a 'fresh' start.

I laid them originally, and as far as I'm aware, I would have used 'normal' floor tile cement to lay them.

    Use a grinder

HG stuff is for a light film only

If the tiles have come loose then i would say the substrate has movement....Or the installer has no skills!!

  • Three tiles that edge onto doorway.

All the other tiles in the hall still sitting fine, installer thinks he'd done well, apart from these three ! lol
    Though very fair point.

If the substrate is not perfect then use something like Mapei Keraquick mixed with Mapei Latex plus for extra flex
