Hi folks,
I am currently in the process of at last overclocking my new build PC (finally have got it running almost problem free at stock).
Now I am wondering what are the maximum voltage levels people run on their 3800x2 AM2 processor (I am currently running 1.54(fairly high I think!), and 2.3V on my Geil PC6400 4-4-4-12 memory which is the maximum specified voltage on the Geil website. I intend to overclock to around 2400-2500MHz and I am aiming for 24/7 stability not a suicide shot. Currently I am sitting at around 2300MHz with my memory not wanting to clock over 220MHz FSB and the HT bus not wanting to know at over 1100MHz.
Can I turn up the RAM voltage a bit more???? Is 1.54V on my CPU as high as I should go for everyday use?
I am running Prime95 to stability test the system, at the moment I am looking for 2+hrs of stability before altering the BIOS again. On my finalish settings I will run Prime95 for the required 10hrs+ when I finally have some settings I am happy with.
Next step is 2400-2450-2500-2525... etc
I want to hit at least 2.4GHz which is equivalent to a 4600+ chip (or 4400x2 chip which I was intending to buy!).
Motherboard is a M2N32-SLI one which contains loads of extras in the BIOS I don't understand!!! Anyone played around with the skew rate?
Jules
