hi guys and gals...
i used to be into computers but now lost my interest in them a long time ago
i have MS-7071 (PM8M2-V) Motherboard with a Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.93GHz Model 4, Stepping 1
Maximum Memory Capacity: 2048MB
Currently Installed Memory: 256MB
Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*
Available Memory Slots: 1
Total Memory Slots: 2
Dual Channel Support: No

thats from the crucial system scanner i downloaded from a link on this forum..

also it has on board graphics which is poo to say the least can i overide this if i buy a newer graphics card from looking on google this mobo has a agp socket..
and also will more memory make this heap o junk faster :o

    The computer will definitely benefit from having more RAM, 256MB just isn't enough for XP to get it running at a reasonable rate of knots.

    512MB is your minimum target to aim for.
    Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.

    ...and yes, a new graphics card will override the onboard when fitted...just be aware you'll probably need drivers for the new card.

    But check what type of graphics card your mobo can accept otherwise it won't run.

    Might as well see if you can clean up whats on now too ~

    Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
    Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
    Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
    Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds


    reboot

    Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

    Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
    (do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
