What are the benefits of a remote controlled case - I dunno anything about that. I was pretty set on the Lian Li - love the look and, as my friend advised me, it should allow a beginner plenty of room for easy installation and future upgrades.

the 501 is an attractive case - however the reviews say it is average in performance. Is the Lian Li classed as a not quiet case. Wish I could post links as from what I've read it's nota silent but definitely not loud. It comes with 5 fans too, all adjustable and can I not turn these down to be quieter?

I have decided that I would like to the build to last at least 3 years before the cpu/mobo need to be changed. As far as my theory is, the mobos include USB3.0 and SATAIII to future proof. Is this unnecessary in your opinion?

the GPU is also where I could either go minimum or some future proofing. If I want it to last 3 years AND I want to give myself a good web show via the full HDTV I cannot help but by tempted by, either 5770 and maybe xfiring it later, or go for the 5850 outright.

Re the 5830 - admittedly it is very much cheaper but according to Tom's Hardware the 5850 is so much more powerful. I am very tempted by the 5850 as the reviews state the 5850 is much more more energy efficient and am thinking over a few years I could get back the money difference (at least) by going the 5850 route.

    thanks for your tips :)
