Does Cherry Blackfly affect the fruit or do I have another problem?
I have been googling for hours and it seems that my cherry tree has Cherry Blackfly. I have found out how to deal with this and luckily I have caught it early.
My question is, does the Cherry Blackfly affect the fruit?
Some of the fruits (near the affected leaves) are going a patchy light browny colour and when touched, they are dropping off the tree.
I can't find any info on this. None of the articles I have read mentions the cherry blackfly affecting the fruit.
If anyone can shed some light on this I would be really grateful!
Thank you x

Well they might not affect the fruit on an actual basis, but if they affect the tree, then the fruit will be affected.
So that could be happening. If you have sorted the problem, it should start to get better.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

You may find the fruit dropping off is "June drop", which is the unpollinated ones just being shed and nothing to do with blackfly
My local Morrison's has an avenue of cherry trees, loads of immature cherries are dropping off, as did one of my Sunburst [at £7.50]
Thye tend to turn reddish brown before dropping off, maybe in hope of being eaten by birds?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Ahhh that could well be it then - just coincidence that it has happened at the same time. Thank you farawaySPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
