Anyone??Mum needs help wanted with studentfinance site.

I am logged into site, I supported my daughter last year and I have to add my other daughter who will be starting uni in September.

The problem is her details from last year when she did a foundation course at another Uni is on there and I can't change the details.

It says check the details and amend if necessary BUT the stupid site will not let me! Anyone else had this problem?

The problem I've had is a complete inability to log in at all - neither DH nor I can answer our 'security' questions. We've resorted to getting the forms posted out to us ...

    Savvy_Sue,
I know you say you have solved your problem by getting froms posted to you but I think it is something to do with your computer(but can't remember what exactly-not a technical person)
We had the same problem and would end up getting the account 'locked', phone up, reset passwords etc, get locked out again :(
Student Finance were very helpful, kept resetting etc and after about the 4 th attempt(1st go on 4th reset still no good) we attempted it on dd's laptop instead of our computer and got straight in.
I don't know whether it is to do with cookies or something-I am sure someone with computer knowledge will be able to help.

    Hi there

I have the same problem. I applied to do Foundation year of my degree last year however I didnt actually go, I applied then withdrew.

When I tried to log in this year to reapply they said all would be well and I wouldnt need to send evidence and just use last years evidence and login.

After numerous changes etc it still didnt work, so they advised me to write in and state that I had not been on the course and to close that ID which I did over 3 weeks ago and they say they still havent had the letter.

In the end after spending hours on the phone to student finance account getting locked then unlocked then new passwords etc etc , they suggested I printed off another 32 page form so they can set up a new ID for this year and when they finally found the other letter I sent they can close it down.

My advice to you would be to try them again and post out the form ! I have recieved an acknowlegement of my form which was sent in on the 26 May - recorded delivery!

Also, a local number for student finance instead of the 08 number is 0141 243 3600

I used it on Friday and got through ok

It could indeed be cookies, but we've tried on two different computers, both running Linux and we don't use a Windows machine at home. Perhaps more likely to be that. Lost the will to live after a while ...

Also I wonder if the OP's problem can only be solved by her DD logging in and changing details - it surely can't allow PARENTS to change the details of their offspring's courses, can it?

If that's already been tried, then I apologise ...

Nothing to do with peoples computers. Its the student finance website, its not coded very well and breaks easily. Problem is their "technical team" is clueless (made up of people who failed there PC World interviews as I've seen one person put it) and therefore these issues never get fixed and are there year after year.

Because it was a foundation course she didn't apply to student finance last year but my other daughter who started a degree course did which we supported. Then I had to put my dependants so 3 daughters, youngest a level course and the other two daughters.
So this year she has applied for student finance and put in the details of uni etc.

But as I said the page says to review and amend but there is no edit button so you can do that. The is a help button which also doesn't work.

    The site is really bad.
My OH who writes software reckons it is a terrible site.
