Hello'

MY 250gb hdd is split in half BUT I am eating up C: rather quickly. I can't seem to make C: any bigger (only to make D: smaller and an extra partition appears)

I can't seem to be able to say move user files over to D: to give me more room on C:

Any advice at "Janet n John" level please!!

Sadly I don't think you can unpartition your harddrive unless removing everything off it... Nor can you change the sizes.

Not sure what you have on your computer but could you move 'My Documents into D:? Is that enough?
Also can save new programmes to D too I think although others may argue that it's not a good plan...

Ok, 1st I'm now allowed to post links being a 'new user' to these forums, despite being here for a number of months. So you'll have to bear with me and do the following.

Goto google.com and search for the following: 'Free Magic Partition Manager Software - EASEUS Partition Master' without the ' ' quotes obviously, its the top link the 'partition-tool.com' one.

Then once you've done that, you can get the instructions by typing the following into youtube.com 'EASEUS Partition Master resizing' again without the ' ' as otherwise youtube gets confused. Then watch the top two links and that should be it.

    DO NOT DO THIS

Windows 7 and Windows Vista have built in partitioning tools and can resize the hard drives from within Windows in Disk Management.

Its Windows 7. Actually you can do that from within Windows using Disk Management. Windows Vista has this capability too. Its only Windows XP and earlier that you can't.
