Just on a serious note.... sorry! Impending Bankruptcy??
If it makes you feel any better, me and DH went bankrupt in December last year, part funded by being on Tonight with Trevor and GMTV. We were discharged on 17th July this year and I have to say it was the best 8 months I've ever known! :j
Ok, so we don't have a cheque book, big deal! But then we neither have a massive overdraft anymore, or plastic that won't work, or unpaid bills piling up everywhere! Apart from that, all our debts were written off and because our income was so low (only me working, DH on Incapacity Benefit through having M.E) we haven't had to pay anything into our bankruptcy. We rent, and our landlord is a mate of ours, so we had no problems with the house. I got to keep my car because it was worth less than £1500 and I need it to get work (80 miles a day), but best of all, no more threatening letters or phone calls from creditors. We only owed £15k between us, but when you can't pay it back it may as well have been £15 million.
Bankruptcy really isn't the end of the world that people think it is, so I wouldn't worry about having to jump on a plane and go to Spain!
Don't panic about it and just go with the flow - hopefully it'll all work out for you like it did for us. :jBCSC # 9 and proud! :beer:0 -
