Yamaha Maxster 125 - Super unleaded petrol mixed with normal
Options
Hi MSE's :hello:
I've just been to the petrol garage and purchased some Super unleaded petrol for my 125cc Yamaha Maxster but now I am concerned whether or not I can use it?
I just purchased my scooter and the petrol now needs topping up, I know it runs on unleaded petrol but I don't want to feed it super unleaded if it doesn't play nice:eek: any advice?
I also bought it in a jerry can anyway so haven't put it in yet, but I was also wondering would it be OK to mix it with the normal unleaded already in the tank?
Thanks!
Note: the petrol is 95 Unleaded and 95 super unleaded

When I owned a Gilera Runner SP 50cc Scooter back in 2003/04 I used to run it on Super Unleaded from the Jet garage all the time. I don't know if it was just all in my head but it felt like it ran better on the Super stuff. Back then I never took notice of fuel prices. When £7 filled the tank and lasted a fortnight on my commute to work, you didn't need to.0

Throw it in, but there is no need to put Super in it.0

Super unleaded made a massive difference on my bike, more than 10mpg. It wasn't in my head either, my mate borrowed it and when he filled it up he put super in it, I only found out when it should have run out of petrol and hadn't!
Mind you, that was a Fireblade not a 125, you might or might not notice a difference but it certainly won't do any harm.0 -
You can't do any harm running higher Octane fuel.
Octane number refers to its knock resisting properties. You can never have too much knock resistance.Happy chappy0 -
It's a 4 stroke scooter it will be ok on regular or super.Nothing to see here, move along.0
