Hi All,
I need a little help, I'm new to buying online but have decided to drag myself into the 21st century and give it a try. I need to buy a new cordless drill for numerous DIY jobs around the house that I've been putting off.
I've managed to find the drill I want but have never heard of the website before. What guarantees do I have they will deliver and not just disappear with my money?
What websites would you recommend to buy tools from?
Thanks in advance
Adam

If you stick to ones that yopu are familiar with like Argos, or B&Q you'll be fine. It does take some time to build up trust, but I've been doing it for several years now without any problems. I only buy from Britsh shops that have been arond for a long time.
I try using sites that I can go through Nectar to buy from so if you have a Nectar card, register it on their sites so you can start collecting points as you buy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the quick response. That makes sense Barneysmom, I just really liked the price from this other website. It's from a website called Just Off Base, who I have never heard of.
This is the drill is a Draper 14.4V Cordless Variable Speed Combined Screwdriver & Rotary Drill.
How can I find other places that sell this drill, Maybe Argos or B&Q has it.0 -
run a search of that drill through google or even froogle which is the shopping search arm of google. you could also search through pricerunner.co.uk which will list all the places online that sell that drill and their prices.0

if it is over £100 then pay with credit card then at least you have protectionSealed pot challenger # 10
1v100 £15/3000 -
good thing about the internet is that you can check what price it's on for at each website. as suggested, stick to well known companies first until you get more experience doing it then it becomes easy to determine the trustworthy sites.0

It seems that you may be able to get it from Amazon for cheaper, anyway, there are lots of different models, so have a look for yourself ...

Apart from food shopping (Lidl and Morrissons don't) we buy most things online and not yet had a problem, we use a credit card for safety and have set up a paypal account too.
Paypal is good as you never have to divulge your account details outside of the paypal itself, quick and simple.
Seeing as councils and others try to rip the motorist off with ever increasing parking charges and increasing parking fines if you get it wrong i'll only increase my online shopping, don't have to dodge the drunks beggars chavs and thieves either, result.0
