I hope its ok to post in here, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to start a new thread or not but it involves the same topic. I also want to start working in the same area but I have no experience and I was wondering how best to go about applying for jobs. Most of the jobs that I can apply for with no experience want you to have a driving licence which I don't have. So I was wondering if it would be best to do a course, voluntary work or maybe both. I'm hoping to do an Access Nursing and Healthcare Professions course in September, would that help or would I be better off doing something else. I've got an appointment with my jobcentre Advisor soon, to try and do a training course. If I get put on a course, would it benefit me more to learn the job in a nursing home or would it be the same sort of thing if I go into hospital work. Sorry for the rambling :)

The access course won't help when it comes to doing care work.
Seeing as you don't have a drivers license your best bet would be to apply for care /nursing homes or HCA work in your local hospital.

I worked as a HCA before I stared my nursing. Prior to that i had absolutely no experience but that never held me back.

The care work will look good as well when you do get round to applying for uni. Most like like you to have some experience

Sat nav? I have one on my phone that I never use and didn't realise was there for months! I think you can get a cheap one for about £30-40 these days. Ask your employer for one if you're feeling bold.
