Here are my stats, not LLU. Things like SNR amd attenuation I have some idea what they mean, But for others like Output power, errors etc, I haven't a clue .

Will some kind person please educate me what they are for and tell me what they say about my broadband connection?

    [kbps/kbps] (Up/Down):444 / 7,869
    spacer.gif Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:26.0 / 47.0
    spacer.gif SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:19.0 / 5.5

You are synchronising with the exchange at 7.869 Mbps
Your downstream line attenuation is 47.0 db
Your noise margin, thats the amount by which the broadband signal exceeds the background noise, is 5.5 db.
Most routers will negotiate with the host for the maximum speed for a given noise margin, the threshold is normally 7 db, if you were to reboot the router it would initially sync at this figure.
Noise margin will vary during the day and fall (smaller number) in the evening, the router will hang on until it can no longer sync and may then reboot at a lower speed to maintain the margin.

The speed you are getting is about right for the attenuation, you could see if you get a better result in the master test socket,if you do it would pint to you needing to sort out your old internal phone wiring.

    1. 444 is nearly the max 7,869 nearly the max More is better
    2. This just happens
    3. Less is better
    4. More is better, but it is at the expense of 1.

What about the numbers of errors reported?
    And BTW connection is ADSL2+.

Not good. CRC errors are self correcting.

Nowt wrong with those stats or error counts - note the uptime of 2+ days......if my line was that good i'd be quite happy :)

FECs are showing that the interleaving and error correction is doing it's thing...I'd get concerned if it was significantly slowing you down...what sort of speed test results are you getting ???

Thanks for assurance about the error rate.

As to speeds, for whatever reason my profile has dipped from 6500 to 6000 and hopefully will rise soon as the connection rate has been steady 7869. Actual through-put is around 90% profile on tests done.

The 90% referred to my ISP's tester which just recorded 5487. BT's immediately before gave 5853

not too bad, then :) I take it you're on a IPStream product, not LLU. If so, you're at the mercy of the BT DLM system. If you're still concerned about the error count, monitor your line's performance over a week or so, see how it behaves.
