How to stop moving images on ads?

I wondered if any clever person knew how to stop advertising moving on pages? I managed to get help to stop images on these pages by pressing the escape button so icons no longer move, but pages like ebay now have adverts that move/flash/roll/spin on their pages and driving me crazy.

I can minimise my page and move centre of screen to try read pages but then half way down ebay page say there are ads on the other side of the screen so have to keep moving pages over/cropping page.

They make me feel really sick and can trigger migraines, Im not against adversting if they didnt keep moving/flashing every few seconds!!! Ive looked at preferences on ebay the only thing I could do was opt out of adverts tailed to me or not!!

Any advise be greatful, at this rate I will be hard pressed to find any web pages I can read without having to cut, chop and narrow pages constantly.

    What ads? ;)

Try Adblock Plus and you'll barely see any. Of course, you need to use Firefox for it to work. AB+ is the first extension I install after installing Firefox on somebody's computer.

If you added a filter subscription, then it will already filter most of the adds. The subscriptions will include well known add sites and expressions commonly used in the URL of the ad. You can subscribe to more than one of them. Some are quite specific for certain countries. They will update itself every couple of days. If there is still an annoying add, just right click on it and select "Adblock Plus: ...". There you can add exactly this picture, or all pictures in the same directory, or the whole domain or ...
    Thanks everyone especailly tronator

In addition to Adblock Plus also try Adblock Plus: Element Hiding Helper.

This takes Adblock Plus to a new level and will cut out anything on the page which annoys you and which Adblock Plus can't remove.

Or install the Firefox add-on Flashblock which blocks ALL Flash content.
