Hi there

I am begging for help from someone/anyone

I am due to go somewhere on the train soon and the price has just shot up to £88 , I simply cannot afford this and I urgently have to go.

Can someone please try and find me a cheaper way by train , Ive read the split ticketing but simply cannot get my head round it.

I need a return train ticket for these dates

From : Salisbury 18th june , has to be after 5PM to lincoln central
Return : Lincoln 22nd june at any time during the day

Please , someone help me , I would be so grateful , I just do not understand why the price is so high , its madness. Its not possible for me to get any of the railcards either that offer discounts

You can get it for £30 each way if you buy singles and go at the right time of day
  • Cheapest I have found in singles is

There £39 , It has to be after 5pm that day and the £30 option would mean sleeping in a train station overnight
    Back £31.50

so £70.50 , still a joke though if you ask me

Its southwest trains that seem to make it expensive
  • Im hoping to get it more like £50 , ive been at it for 7 hours now nearly lol

I haven't a clue but just some thoughts.

    Is the bus an option?

Start or finish at another station and connect up via bus?

    Thumb a lift?

Cheapest on the train looks to be £78 (£39 Single x 2). Anything cheaper appears to involve 13 hour journeys and long waits in deserted trainstations.

National express do a return for £46.70 on coach, however, the journey is only at 1035am each morning so you would either need to leave earlier on the friday or leave on the saturday morning. It takes 9 hours so you dont arrive until 730pm.

You've left it too late to cheap ticket I'm afraid. Had a quick look at spilt ticketing but in this case that doesn't help either.
