Have you tried the oscommerce forums , the docs or grepping/searching the source tree for the literals you want to change.
If you want to know what the first page is. Then check the web server for what it is setup to use. Oscommerce doesn't decide what page is displayed when you goto a url with no file specified. Typically a default php page would be called index.phpNURSE: "Shouldn't it be sterilized, doctor?"

define('TEXT_MAIN0 -

The manufactures list can be added to from within the admin console which is installed as part of oscommerce.
Its in the
Catalog-manufacturers
section on the admin page.0 -

Basically, OsCommerce won't work with PHP Version 5. Try using ACTINIC https://www.actinic.co.uk for your e-commerce needs. It's not free but it's more stable.0
