in Credit cards
Hi, I've been asked by a company in Taiwan to provide a credit card (and security code!) to make a payment for goods. I'm not too happy about sending the details over and am thinking that I could maybe ask for a card that with no overdraft that I just transfer funds in as and when needed. Therefore I can't be scammed. The other atlernative is telegraphic transfer, but this'll cost me money! They don't have a paypal account, so I'm guessing the CC method is a good one. Anyone have any advice as to whether banks do this, and whether they'd be happy if I told them honestly why I want the card?!
Thanks
Thanks

By 'security code', are you sure they don't simply mean the last 3 digits on the back of your card, normally requested when customer not present, here or abroad?0 -

Yes, that's what they are after, known as a security code. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Card_Security_Code)0 -
Why dont you look at a SplashPlastic card (or similar)?
One where you charge the card with cash and then spend it?
Or have a look at https://www.cahoot.com which allows you to (with their credit card) create an internet card number which is only useable once - and up to set limits you define. There may be other companies out there that do that which I'm sure people will mention at some point!Save a life. Learn emergency first aid.
Who knows what might happen tomorrow or who may need help.
Contact your local college or first aid provider to enquire about free courses in your area.
Already a first aider? Have you updated your first aid to the new 2005 guidelines? Most providers should now be training the new (and more effective) CPR protocols, see if they are offering refresher courses near you.0 -
The Webcard that markmc999 refers to can also be got if you have their current account. It's really a useful thing to have.0
