Chance of A&L giving temporary bigger overdraft?

Does anyone know the chances i have of A&L giving me a temporary (eg 1 month tops) extension to my overdraft?
Cahoot are about to take 800 quid to pay off a credit card that i only owe 100 quid on... and it will pretty much clean me out for the month.. the only way im going to avoid having DD's bounce is by getting my overdraft extended..
can alliance and leciester do this? or will they just tell me to go away?
any advice would be appreciated

shouldnt you ask them, rather than a forum?
MSE doesn't represent A&L, doesn't have access to your credit history and has no way of guessing whether they would or wouldn't make a larger overdraft available to you.
Just go into a branch (don't call them, the personal touch helps) and explain what it is you need, and why.0 -
No problem... they said no anyway.. but i dont need it now... :j0

Can I be nosey and ask why they are taking £800 to pay a £100 credit card bill?
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
You'd be better off with pretty much ANY sort of credit, even an expensive loan, overdraft or credit card than having DDs bounce and exceed your limits, even though the charges are illegal and can be claimed back fairly easily it will damage your credit rating. Then when the same happens again, you struggle for credit to sort it out. Then when it happens again.......If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.
If you do like it please hit the thanks button.0 -
If you only owe £100 to Cahoot why are they taking 8 though? If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

Basically im moving the balance to a virgin card..
so i BT'ed the majority of the money onto cahoot, only needing 100squid to be settled... "fair enough" i thought.. ill set the DD to pay the full outstanding balance.
then today i logged in to check stuff.. and noticed to my horror it said payment this month: 785quid date:29th Aug.. which would have put the credit card in credit by 700 quid
this of course put me in a panic.. because i didnt realise that the "pay full balance" option means the balance at the bottom of the statement (that i never read anyway) and the BT had gone through after the statement so wouldnt count..
it was too late to change it.. so was trying to figure out how i could cover the extra dosh..
So i phoned A&L who basically said no straight away (bit poor me thinks)
but they said they were only showing two other DD's on the system to go through tomorrow.. not the 800 one, which was a bit of relief, because i could probably have got some money into the account by then.. however they did say i could stop the DD... of course i didnt want to do that either (last resort really)
so i then phoned cahoot back.. and managed to get through.. i was actually going to try to explain to them what had happened and see if i would be penalised for stopping the DD.
Anyway, turns out that because the BT went through.. there was going to be no DD this month
This kinda pi**ed me off because id been running around panicking like an !!! because there was nothing to indicate that i wasnt going to have this large sum of money being taken..
but at least its clear and sorted now... can relax a bit and bask in the knowledge of the amount of money im saving :T
Bloody banks... pain in the !!!!0
