Mr trick, I know I am not a business customer but just my 'pennorths worth,
I was tied in to a domestic 2010 price protection with BG and rang them in February to ask when my price protection actually finished (so i could do the price comparison sites in time for change) I was told that it ended in July 2010,
surprise surprise near the end of march I got a letter stating that my price protection was finishing in 14 days and helpful people that they are BG were switching me onto a very competitive price protection tariff. I didnt need to do anything.

When I checked the small print I had been put on a very pricey tariff indeed so I rang them and cancelled going onto the new tariff and then shopped around, when I had asked about the online (cheaper) tariffs they would not give me any info other than all the information was online, I queries why I was told previously that my tariff ended in July and the girl got very shirty and denied all of this


As it was BG had an online tariff that was very competitive but rather than put me on this one they chose the dearer option. very helpful.

I have now changed supplier but have to say that from my experience of BG they are very sneaky.
