Really high Car insurance prices!!!

I dont know if anyone has any theories about this. Its time for me to renew my car insurance but my renewal has risen by over £200!!!!!

There is no change from my last renewal except I have an extra year for no claims bonus.

Previously I have been involved in an accident and have some points for speeding but these were part of my last renewal!

Why has it gone up so much... in some cases over £400!!

Try on the Insurance Board. An extra years NCB and an accident and a speeding conviction don't quite add up?

It's probably gone up because of the rise in the number of claims and/or personal injury. But Insurers make most of their money by investing the premium you pay into the markets to produce a return before paying out claims. With the markets returning near sweet FA then the only way to cover costs and make a profit is to increase premiums.

    will do.

the accident and points were 2 years ago so since then i have got more no claims bonus and i wouldnt have thought the insurance would go up by so much

I have had the same problem with Direct Line increasing my insurance by £110,i have been with them 15 years.I called them to advise i was going to another insurer and they advised i could speak to their loyalty department and the price was lowered immediately ??

Usually the case, but not this year..not in my experience this year anyway with DL. After five years with them I've switched to Axa- it was £50 cheaper than DL. DL wouldn't move on the cost at all this time round.
