Excel formula - NI Contribution

I need help with a simple spreadsheet calculating monthly pay.
A gross pay of £763.51 has tax at £152.80 and NI-A at £31.57.
I can calculate the tax.
What formulae do I use to calculate the above NI contribution?
(There may be months under £440 ish when no NI paid?)
I do not have the know how to attach a copy of the simple spreadsheet.

Many Thanks :)

(Gross - Threshold) * .0128. The NI contributions threshold is on the govt website.

Judging by the figures that you have quoted the NI is being taken from the tables so any formulae you use will usually come out by a few pence.
The current monthly earnings threshold is 476 and the A rate is 11% for employees.

If you're doing this for actual payroll, get the HMRC employer's CD, it has all sorts of calculators and things on there. If you have lots of employees and various complicated things going on with their pay you might want to get your accountant to do it all for you (usually they are quite efficient/inexpensive for this).

If you're just doing it to check your pay, HMRC have a basic calculator on their webby.

If you're doing it for some other reason weeeeellll NI is complicated because there's all sorts of mucking about, nevermind the LEL & UEL there's all the letter codes, weekly/monthly/annual basis, oh and it's done differently for company directors.

    Thanks all,
As someone posted, NI can be complicated but for my simple checking of monthly pay info provided is what I required.
I am retired doing casual work and have loads of time to play on my PC - hence playing with Excel.
    Many Thanks again to posters!
