Hope some one can help me. I am getting this message to say that Adobe Flash Player wants to install. I have tried clicking the install, the don't install and closing it with the X. Nothing removes it, it pops up about 4 times in a row everytime I look at a new screen on line and is really annoying. It seems genuine but I am now worried that I have a virus.

Download it from the Adobe website and install it manually. This way you'll be sure that it's genuine.0 -
You shouldn't be getting that pop-up on sites which don't have Flash on them. Like here for instance.
If you haven't already got it I would suggest you download, install and run Malwarebytes Antimalware from this link:
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756
Click where it says 'Download Locations' It's a highly recommended product on MSE and it's free.
Just do a quick scan which will only take 6 or 7 minutes. If it doesn't find anything that should put your mind at rest But if it does find any nasties just post the log on this forum and somebody'll help you out.0 -
Are you running Windows 7 by any chance ???
Cos it don't support Flash Player.0 -
Since when? I never used Windows 7, but Adobe's website says "Windows7/Vista/XP/..." I think you're mixing something up with all these iGadgets

Adobe flash does not work [ Win7 & Vista ] in x64 but does in x86 IE8. It's been this way since the Beta days, it was supposed to be sorted with the massive set of updates last Thursday.
- ang~on~I'll~av~a~look !
- Just tried youtube and the usual message appeared "" You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video ""
- so use the [ see #1 below ] 32bit version of IE8 that is there on your Win7 O/S and it will work !
- or use Chrome browser as an altenative
#1 = Adobe insist on a download manager carrrp or you won't get the flash. Allow the download manager on / it installs the flash / when it's finished go to your control panel and uninstall the Adobe install manager - sorted
Hope this helps.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Still, the statement "Flash doesn't run in Windows 7" is wrong, it doesn't run in Windows 7 x64.Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »#1 = Adobe insist on a download manager carrrp or you won't get the flash.
