Just got hold of a brand new Samsung UE26C4000PW 26" LED television for the bedroom. Got through the initial setup stage with no problems. The set had been on for around 10 mins when it switched itself off. I checked the power supply was plugged in correctly and used a different socket and turned it back on. It was on for around 5 mins when it turned itself off again. This time it wont turn back on at all . Any ideas?
I had heard bad things about Samsung but they were the only ones that did the 26" LED that was just right for where I wanted to put it. I am beginning to wish I had not bothered now. I contacted the supplier (online), but they are shut now until Monday.
Is this some kind of record? I had around 15 mins viewing time before it died.

Just sent it back, stating your absolute rights under distance selling regs to return an item within seven days for a refund. don't get fobbed off with offers to repair etc.0 -

You don't have to return the goods in seven days. Under DSR you have seven working days from the day after you received the goods to notify the supplier that you are exercising your right to cancel the contract. Once you have done that you then make arrangements with the supplier to return the goods.

Most unlikely,I've bought electronic hardware direct from the manufacturer and it was DOA.

This of course is if you want a refund. I would not recommend you go for a repair as it is too soon and too inconvenient after a purchase to start arranging engineers, but if this is the TV you want, just get it exchanged. You should have no problems.0 -
The power board is gone ( £150 fitted )
- money back start again
- NEW replacement
- allow a repair
.. .. .. want to know what I'd do ? .. .. .. suffer until I get a BRAND NEW replacementDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
