Hey to all!
Well, it's that time of year again when brave women (and men) :rotfl: take part in the annual Moonwalk!

The 19th - 20th June is the dates this year, so I wish to wish good luck towards all walkers who will be participating in either the legendary Full or Half Moon.

I will myself be at the start line myself this year, and I know I WILL be crossing that finishing line as part of the Full Moon in my very sparkly decorated bra!

Breast cancer as well as any other type can affect anyone, at any time as everyone knows and this is a charity close to my heart.

I would like to have all of your wishes and share a little of my excitement to take with me for this magical event in a weeks time.

    Hi angelcatcher,

I have taken part in the Edinburgh moonwalk twice (full distance both times) and if I wasn't 38 weeks pregnant would of being doing it again this year. It is a great cause. The atmosphere is fantastic, emotional and truly worth taking part.

I wish you all the very best and will certainly be thinking of everyone taking part this year.

Daniboy- I would totally agree. People are so supportive and encouraging be it other participants, general public or the support staff, especially if the weather isn't so nice. I have great memories of both events that I will carry with me forever.
  • Thanks for the replies!

From you two Experienced Walkers, any tips to staying awake all night long?
I think that'll be the bit that gets me. Not the distance, but staying up all night....... then all morning, heehee.

I am definitely looking forward to the city going pink though. Provided the camera can hold enough photos.

Good on you to all those who are taking part in this! :D

I might encourage OH to consider this next year....I think it would be quite amusing seeing him in a fetching pink bra. :rotfl:
Herman - MP for all! :)
  • Hey there, aliasojo.

Well my bra is mostly white I'll admit, but I've stuck sparkly pipe cleaners on mine.
It's hard to describe but the ends of one end start together in a corner, then get 'fanned out' individually to cover the cup.

I try to act creative at times and this was the maddest idea I had!

It would be fascinating if more guys DID take part though.

This time next week, it'll all be over :(

My top tip would be to put a little vaseline between your toes. A friendly stranger gave us that advice and it really did help!

Didn't find tiredness too much of a problem when I took part a couple years ago, adrenalin pretty much carries you through - my abiding memory will always be using the portobello GENTS toilet at 4am...! It was quicker than the 45min queue for the ladies!!!:rotfl:

    Good luck!
