Does anyone have any suggestions for free parking overnight near and around Piccadilly Station in Manchester overnight - or with reasonable access to from another area?
Many Thanks in advance.

i can't think of anywhere that's free - everywhere is a NCP carpark. Although a lot of the on road parking is free after 6pm until 8am. Well it is on the other side of the oxford road (hulme street etc...) Otherwise the university carpark on charles street might be cheaper?2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
2013: £134.960 -
if you find any let me know! there is some onstreet parking behind primark and that area after 6pm but not sure what time in the morning charges start. if you park at alt get there v v early as the spaces are full by 730 in my experience. tram fare return to picc is expensive at 4.50 each.0

Free Parking within walking distance is pretty impossible.
There's an NCP on Ducie street, behind the station, I parked there once and it was surprisingly cheap for overnight, certainly well under a tenner.
Otherwise I'd park somewhere near a tram stop and get a tram in.
If you are coming from south, park at Stretford and get tram in to piccadilly. Stretford is close to M60 and tram costs just over £2.00 return. The tram station is on Edge Lane, best place to park is Kings Road, about 50 metres past the station, quiet residential street. Make sure you have change for the tram ticket machine - you have to buy ticket in advance from a machine on the platform.0 -

there are a few streets nearer oxford road station with meters so they should be free after 6pm.:happyhear0 -
there's a small NCP one between Picadilly and the BT building, could be Ducie St and it's the cheapest i've seen around there. Last time i parked there was on a Saturday and cost about £2 for 24 hours.0

All pay and display bays within the Manchester City Center are free between the hours of 6PM and 8AM Monday to Saturday so if staying in a hotel for business park after 6 and as long as you leave before 8 there is no charge. All day sunday there is no charge so you can park in any bay.
Loading bays, can be parked in out of hours. Most loading bays run at the same time as pay and display.
On a Saturday from 12.30pm at the bottom of bridge street it joins with Salford. Any single yellow line in the Salford Controlled Parking Zone is unenforceable after 12.30pm and is not patrolled by wardens after this time.
If you are parking in the printworks car park, Shudehill, once you have finished shopping there is a ticket stamp in the odeon cinima. Just walk in get your ticket stamped and you get 33% off you parking. All day!!!!!! and Night!!!!!
I know this due to a past job as you guessed it a traffic warden0
