HSBC Security Checks and Witholding Money

My bank have witheld on at least four occaisions in the past 6 mths credits to my account between £3k - £250.00 on the grounds that they are carrying out fraud and security checks. Who can I talk to about this at the bank as I don't have a personal account manager?

Thanks

    No-one.

It's a security measure. You can try and ask if they can make it more lenient, but no idea if they can or would.

I accept its a security measure but its an over the top one. Especially when i have bills to pay as they are holding onto my money for 24hrs. It's not the nature of the act I'm complaining about but the frequency of it.

I have spoken to my bank and it would appear they are doing it to force me to open up a business account with them. I have reported them to the FSA and they said my bank are abusing and misusing the security checks as they should not be doing this to me so frequently and the FSA will now be writing to the bank about it.

Are you using a personal account for business purposes?
If so you are lucky that they have not closed the account!
