Have done the comparison for the utilities- existing comes out on top on a different tarrif- by a slight difference npower comes second but quidco is offering I think £150 cashback?
Have only used cashback sites for buying from next and clarks etc. How are they re switches-
Have also phoned to complain to sp as was on a no standing charge but have somehow been moved to a differ tarrif when my dd was cancelled for one month by mistake (by me:o) over a yr ago!! #
If they don't be nice;) I will be switching.

have joined (or trying to the £2 challenge and sealed pot as we already have a loose change pot but hoping this way it won't get raided.

Re: the children uniforms. I have kindly received Brand new school trousers for my daughter from sister who bought too many for her girl last Sept.
So will be returnig mine(that I got with vouchers) for a refund/vouvher to use next time. This MSE stuff is addictive I am really thinking of the pennies that will make £sss. Love it:T

:(Oh on a bad point I have scrapped the side of my car (that was in prestine condition when it was hubbys car until he upgraded). He thinks it needs a respray but am happy to drive it as it is. We will see.

ok you wonderful ppl. As you know I am a newbie at this op stuff. I just don't want the burden of a mtge for 26yrs around our necks as it is only my hubby that is working.

I have today got some figures from the bank and was wondering if you can guide me.
    I have a balance of
£35349 at 1.99% tracker ending in sept 2013
    and a
balance of £26055 at 1.15% tracker ending Dec2011 (will go on to the svr? which is currently 3.5%)
Now the op I make I have been told will come of the rate ending soonest which is the 1.15% unless i ask for it to come of the other one.

so my question is should I move the op to pay the high interest part or leave it at the lower one as it will be ending soonest???

Also I am getting charged interest at £2.74 daily. Now my op at the moment is only £60 ( as was the first) so how will this OP benefit me as it doesn't covers the interest>>> Actually writing it down has helped as I guess the more of the original Mtge payment will come of the capital no???
    help:o:o

Don't want to confuse you further hon but with mortgage rates that low you should be paying the minimum on both then bunging the extra into cash ISAs and the best instant access (maybe regular saver?) accounts. Then when your 1.15% rate ends you can make a lump sum op on it.

In the meantime, you can still count all your payments into the savings accounts and adjust a spreadsheet accordingly as you have earmarked the money for mortgage OP's :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

I have a web saver at 2.6% but have just found out as I have a halifax reward current a/c i get an extra .2% on my savings>>>
so that is the route to go.
My OP will sit in there until rates go up...

I think I only benefited from the low rates as I hated the Idea of a fixed when I took out the mtge as if the rates went down I would have been more gutted than if mine went up with the rates rising. I think the gamble has paid off for now. But will be fixing at the end of the term this time round.

got a phone call today re the complain. It has been looked into and I will be put back on the same tariff as the one I came off (no standing charge). Have £56 incredit with scot/power and this might rise slightly due to the change. Will know by next week...

Eon phoned today offering a saving of #£127 p/a based on this yrs consumption...also I get 1000 tesco points plus 1 for every £2 used was it? (will check again.) Will wait for s/p next week and still shop around.

    thanks Liuhut.
We sure are taking it slowly. Am only putting aside the £60 a mth as an OP. But am trying to build up the savings fund. Only one earner and he likes to spend his earnings lol
To be fair to him we have renovated the whole house since we bought it so have just started to enjoy the finished house.
Am hoping to not have a mtge so we can help the kids.

    What the hell is 'ploding'..?

...and haven't all lenders a rule that they won't lend to anyone who can't master basic spelling..?

    At least, they should have.
