Your first priorities are to get the benefits sorted, get that income coming in and cancel your dmp for now. You will need out who you owe money too and how much from your current dmp company though so you can pass it to the CAB/CCCS etc.

Going through and trying to cut all the bills is also going to be a worthwhile exercise though.
    Good Luck with it all.

Edit: you can always check the upyour income baord for ideas on making money. Off the top of my head - car washing/gardening/cleaning/ironing/dog walking/house sitting while people are on holiday/shopping for people - that sort of thing.

People seem to speak very highly of payplan, maybe you should give them a call and speak with them.

As for benefits, hard to get it sorted once they have a bee in their bonnet.. hope it works out with him being paid wages soon.

    Hi there

Thanks for sharing your story! I notice over 3 years your debt has reduced considerably!:T We have been with William Goldberg for 3 years and the debts havent changed! :(, all its doing is keeping us from going bankrupt or going to court by making token payments to our creditors! Did you say it was payplan you were with? x

Hi, the company is called Payplan (as a newbie, I am not allowed to post links, but I'm sure someone reading this can help), they work like a charity and do not take any fees etc. Everything you pay goes directly to your creditors. You get an online record of everything they do for you (remaining balances, money paid to creditors etc. so it is a great way of keeping on track and you know exactly where your money is going.)
I cannot speak highly enough of this company as they were our saving grace after being in debt since I was 18.
They will probably ask you to make a token payment for the first month or so while they set up all the paperwork and get permission to deal with your creditors (you do not pay them any money until they are ready to deal with your creditors and have all the arrangements in place.) As a well established company, they also have a lot of leverage with the companies and can often get them to stop interest and significantly reduce your payments etc. If you have any doubts about them, you might want to get reassurance from the CAB, this is how we found them in the first place.
I wish you the best of luck and assure you that it will get better.
