How can I withdraw without a debit card?

Hi,

I have opened a new bank account, filled a form in at work to have my salary paid into this account, yet work said would be at least 3 weeks before they did it, so don't close old account. Low and behold, today it has been paid into the new one, yet I have only received my pin number for this new account and not yet received the debit card.

How, (if it's possible) can I withdraw my money out without a card, (if it doesn't arrive today that is)?

If you have an account number I think you should just be able to go to the branch and explain whats happening and that you would like to take out some cash, that should be enough, as long as you have some ID it should be ok

Yep take some solid ID (drivers licence, password, some utility bills with your address shown) into the branch and they should help.

  • If you opened it in branch go to the same branch to withdraw the cash, the banking advisor will be able to ID you by recognising you, failing that take you DL or passport.

If you have a letter saying thank you for opening the accout, and it's got the sort code and account number on it, take that in with either a passport or driver's license and they should let you get your money out. Barclays did with mine :)

If your old account is still open can you transfer money into it via standing order from the new account then withdraw it?
