bending 22mm tube

can anyone advise, i wish to take some lengths of 22 mm copper tube and bend into a coil. the idea is to have a continuos length around my pot belly stove and up and around the chimney, to form a source of heat for my small outdoor pool. one other question is do you think the water will flow without a pump, working on the principle of hot rising/expanding.

You can get pipe benders to make individual bends but to make a coil is something else and I dont think that would work. you could try using pipe springs and bending round something appropriate. IT might be better to see if you can purchase something ready made?

The water will only flow without a pump if your heatsource is at least a meter below your heat sink. Placed outside a pot belly stove, I suspect the heat output will be a little on the low side to get things flowing - let alone make a tangible difference to your pool. You would also need to think about making a closed system with another heat exchanger into the pool - otherwise it will probably lime up quickly.

As for bending, normal plumber benders are too small in radius, but you may be able to do a series of bends and straights to get what you want. You need to be skilled in the bender in the first place - otherwise plan on a lot of scrap.

prob be easier to heat the pipe (fairly hot) and then bend it manually around an oil drum or similar.
    Get some gorm.

Also you'll need a aluminium heat exchanger and pipe work if your using chlorine in the pool.

A relative of mine uses two old radiators. One in a shopping trolley full of burning wood and the other in the 'pool' (a farm trailer with a tarpaulin draped over it).

Microbore would be easier to bend, might need to run a few in parallel to achieve the same volume
I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling ;)

Cap 1 end of pipe off, fill with sand & then cap other end off, shud be able to wrap it round
whatever you want to form a coil without any distortion

You might need to be a bit careful with this method.

    Google 'flash steam boiler'!

Why not buy a scrap cylinder and cut out the coil, IMI or Mcdonald engineers would probably sell you one
