I'm due to be moving abroad in August and would like to know if I can still pay a direct debit from an overseas bank account? Its for a loan here. Thanks

no, it's impossible, Direct debit operates through the domestic BACS system.
you could repay the loan by SWIFT payments but that's just going to stupidly expensive, I suggest seeking the assistance of a family member0 -
Or keep your UK bank account and keep it funded.0

Ok, so I could do money transfers from abroad to my uk bank account and keep it that way, that's a point0

you can although unless your local bank is in Europe and offers cheap SEPA payments, using something like moneybookers or paypal will be much cheaper.0

Ok, thanks for all the help0
