Morning, just recieved this in the post...4 months in my bankrupcy
I (my name and address) consent to the disclosure of any personal data, as defined by the data protection act 1998 held about me which thr Official reciever may reasonable require:
1) to fulfil the Official Reciever's duty under section 289 on the insolvency act 1986 to investigate my conduct and affairs; or,
2) to enable the Official Reciever as my trustee in bankruptcy to realise the assets comprised in my bankruptcy estate...
I have to sign it, get a witness sign it and send it back.
I'm sure I haven't done anything wrong, I have no assets, what is this about. Im in such a panic!!

Its a Data Protection Act Disclosure Authority. Basically someone who has information about you that the OR wants has said that they wont release it because of the Data Protection Act, the quick way to resolve this is to get you to sign the form saying the info can be released to the OR. The long way is to call them to court for private examination. Its nothing to worry about just someone being a little awkwardHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

That could very much be the case, if i remember rightly that was part of the reason for the bankruptcy, wasnt it?Hi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

Yes it was.
This has thrown me into a complete spin. The assets part. They are not going to go after my Mums's house and savings are they?0 -
No its a standard paragraph, what it is saying is that they can only use the form to obtain information that is relevent to the job that the OR does which is realising assets and investigating conduct. It basically means that they cannot be nosey about stuff that goes not relate to those mattersHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
