Where to look?
Hi,
Having looked around for a week or so, we have decided to spend more than we've planned before. So the budget is now £3000.
And this is what we'd like to have;
VW golf/Polo/Toyota Yaris
Mileage up to 50k
Age: 2001 onwards
5 doors manual
We searched autotrader, ebay and gumtree. Can anyone advise where else to look? It's been really difficult to find one and whenever we find something, it's gone when we made query. Are we not realistic in our criteria?:o
Should we just go to a local dealer? We live in South London (zone 4) and I think it's generally more expensive down here.
Thanks.

This sort of car is extremely over priced at the moment. You won't find any value in the used market. I ended up buying a brand new car because the idea of paying £5k for a 3 year old Fiesta seemed nuts.0

There should be loads that easily fit the OP's criteria though.0

I was in the same boat with a budget of upto £3k towards a VW Golf,but unless it had moon mileage ie 75000 plus and loads of previous owners there was not a hope in hell as anything really nice was way over priced however having said that I did manage to pick up a 2002 golf 2lt se with only 17,200 miles one owner,but it was a cabrio and really wanted a tin top.
Be patient and you will find something that fits the bill.:)0 -
Hi All,
Thank you for your posts here.
We finally managed to get a 1.2 Polo 52 reg at just under 47k mileage for £2700. Were really pleased with it until the "exhaust emission warning lamp" lights up yesterday whilst driving on mortorway...:(
Hoping it won't cost us too much to fix it.
