Hi,
I am an OT student in Scotland and pat of our course is to go on placement, which could be anywhere in scotland. During first year I maxxed out my overdraft because of it and I am now slowly paying it back, and should be out of it by August (Yay!).
This year I want to put the money I get form SAAS each month (will be approx £150) into a savings account so that I have money to pay for rent etc during placement.
But I have no idea what savings account to go for! The only bank account that I have is my student account with RBS. I have read through as many pages as this forum as I could and had a look at the ISA page but found it a little confusing!
Any help would be great!

right, well the savings board might be better, but if you're putting in an amount each month, without withdrawing it for now, i'd think a regular saver would have the best interest rate. i'd guess moneysupermarket will list the best ones.
if you're thinking longer term than just next year, then maybe an ISA would make sense. if you haven't read this article, then go with that before going into the details they'll have in the forums:
