Singles Holidays - SOLITAIRE

I see no one has recommended SOLITAIRE Holidays. They are dreadful. I booked with them twice, and the second time only because they had the right dates, and the holiday was for Christmas and New Year, not just one or the other. On the first trip (down the Nile), there were 4 of us for 2 weeks. They lied to everyone when they rang up enquiring about the hioliday. They told me 14/15 people going, 2 of the others they told it was a 'singles boat', it wasn't. Last New Year, witth the bad weather conditions 4 of us got stranded in Northern Cyprus, after they shut Gatwick. Soltaire didn't want to know. Luckily, we were more than able to look after ouselves. Again only 6 people Christmas week, and 7 New Year week, 3 of whom, including myself, were there for 2 weeks. When I tried to complain to ABTA I was told they were not ABTA members, what a surprise !!!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience
, but the moral of this story is always to check whether a company is an ABTA member.
The ABTA website allows you to check companies; http://www.abta.com/find-a-holiday/member-search0 -

Apologies ... but very confused ... what exactly are you wanting Solitare to do - compensation / apology ... I am sure that they can not guarantee how many people will be on trip ... or how many people share boat etc ...

What I am saying is don't believe a word they tell you. Having spoken to other people since that have also booked with Solitaire ONCE, but have said 'never again'. Also, the fact that they are not an ABTA member speaks volumes.0
