A friend's laptop + his TV and other gadgets went down after an electrical storm recently:eek:
he's got a lot of stuff on his hard drive that he wants to recover;)
As the l/top wont even get to log on ,whats the best way to try and recover the data??
No, he didn't back it up--but he might now.;)

Hi,
If it's really dead then you could remove the hard disk drive and obtain an external caddy for it. Will serve as a useful backup drive for him to. You can get there units from ebuyer or ebay for a few quid.
Thats what I'd do.
