Voice And Picture Out Of Sync

Living in the North of Ireland I've just bought a Sony 32EX403 television with inbuilt Freeview HD for £399 at M&S (that includes a £100 scrappage offered on this model by M&S and some other stores, it also includes a five year guarantee. So all round good value). Could have bought it a bit cheaper with the same deal from John Lewis but he stopped selling this model online.
Access to FTA services from the Republic was one of my main reasons for buying and I am not disappointed with the signal, however, there is one fault I'm picking up and maybe someone can offer advice.
The voice and picture on the Republics stations are slightly out of sync and you know what it's like when you're watching someone speak and the voice and lips are not working together. All UK channels are in sync.
Anybody offer a suggestion as to what might be wrong and how I can correct the fault.

I doubt anyone here will be able to come up with a reasonable answer that will work for you
Personally id contact sony direct to see what their take on it is:idea:0 -
Googling 'Sony & lip sync' provides a few links suggesting that Sony aren't a stranger to this issue with their products, and that they've a solution in the form of a firmware flash\update that they'll send you on a memory stick. You could do worse than head over too avforums.com and search the forums for 'lip sync' and your devices model number and see what if anything it turns up.

Know nothing specific here, but lip sync issues generally come about between 2 devices, like TV+box or box+amp - not sure there's much you can do if this is thru built in speakers and tuner. If it doesn't specifically state that it supports ROI's digital system, however, Sony won't want to know about it. Better returning it and saying you don't like the colour!0

A realtive had that problem with a Sony Bravia (don't know if it is the same model as yours) As Socrates said, ask Sony for the update and they will send it to you, they are aware of the problem and it is easily fixed.0
