Refurb warranty Advice needed please

1st i would like to thank you for looking 
this means that you are willing to try and help, Thank you.
I bought a refurbished freeview recorder from ebay and it was sold with 3 months warranty, it is now 5 months old and has stopped working, i always thought that refurb products came with the same manufactures warranty but could be wrong.
I hope someone can shed some light on this for me

i payed £40 it was a retailer dealer from ebay and payed by paypal0

If you got a refund, it would be partial, and you cannot go through PayPal as too much time has lapsed.0
