iPod bits and bods?

Getting a 30Gb Video for me and a 2Gb Nano for my son from the refurb shop.

What accessories should I get?

I want a dock that can charge from the mains and sync both of them with my PC. There seems to be loads of them on ebay but should I get a pucker apple one? If not what cheap ones are good?

I also fancy the Sony in ear headphones, I heard they're really good but they're £30 in Argos. Are there any others as good for less or can I get the Sony ones cheap somewhere?

And what about FM transmitters. Which ones are the best? And will they work through the dock so they don't drain the iPods battery?

Any help appreciated.

Wouldn't bother with a dock as the only ones you will find are the Apple ones which cost £25 and don't actually do a great deal. You should get a ISB lead with your Ipod which you can connect between the Ipod and the PC. If you think about it, the Ipod won't spend that long attached to your PC as it doesn't take that long to update/download your latest updates

Would get a power adaptor though as the USB lead is useless for recharging - for example what do you do when you don't have your PC. There's loads of them around on ebay, play.com etc. and don't be afraid to not buy the 'official' Apple version. Basically they all do the same job

I did try a FM transmitter and to be honest I was really disappointed. The sound quality was average at best and it does drain battery power, although have heard you can get combined transmitter/chargers for some Ipods.

Oh and also I would recommend the Sennheiser PX200's which are not in-ear headphones, but for about £28 you will struggle to find a better sound. Plus they fold up into a case that comes with them for easy transportation

    A case for each...
Certainly one mains charger, as iPods can't always be 'woken up' by using a USB lead to supply power.
Maybe a dock if you want to connect to the TV to watch videos.
Which model of Sony? The MDR-EX 71 are, IMHO, dreadfully bass-heavy to the point of being unlistenable. Suppose the kids like that :-(

Totally disagree with the FM transmittor comment from earlier. I have a Griffin FM transmittor and havng bought one for me and several friends when I was last in the States: we all swear by them. Mine is great and I can not live without it. I would recommend the combined charger and transmittor as it makes things easier as I have separate charger/holder and transmittor.
    Waddle you do eh?

Yes although they've changed style a little bit since I bought mine a couple of years ago. Whilst I was searching trying to find the old style I came across this site who seem to be £20 cheaper than the Apple site for your product:
