I'm having problems with my network storage, Buffalo hdlan..
I mapped the network drive ok and could access the drive, then I close explorer and try to access the drive through my computer, and it says the link has been lost. So I delete the drive and reset the connection and it's fine untill I try to connect again via my computer, then I have to start over again.

My Bufflao LS-XHL NAS lost its fixed IP address a few days ago. No obvious reason why it happened, especially since it was in the process of receiving a large data copy. Put the IP address back, and start again - no problems.

Windows networking is a PITA. I've frequently had a previously working network suddenly stop for no known reason. Fortunately setting it up again is quick and so far has always fixed it for me.
