i have paid too much National Insurance, how do i claim it back ?

as the title says.

about £10 more than i should of been paying.

If ive paid £10 too much would that mean my employer has paid too much also ?

    Of course you can, but please check to see that you have indeed overpaid.

    A simple letter to the N.I. people at the address that your employer uses explaining the problem should lead to a refund. Obviously send with proof of posting etc.

    As your employer has presumably calculated you NI liability as well as that of the employer, it would be sensible for them to write as well explaining the over-deduction.

    you will need to provide payslips or P60 which shows the overpayment.
