Wireless keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

I have got a new Dell laptop and connected up to my SKY wireless network. I have connected no problem and the signal strength is constantly "Excellent". My problem is that the network keeps disconnecting then immediately re-connecting. As you can imagine this is extremely frustrating.

My previous HP laptop never did this and always stayed connected.

Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?

Thanks for your help.

have you tried changing your routers wifi channel at all? this can be changed in the hidden sky router settings and channels available from 1 to 13 it may be that other routers around interfering as a poss.

may be dells own software managing the connection , untick the box that lets it manage the connection and let windows do it

you will need to re-enter the network key

Have just tried this and doesn't seem to make any difference. I have now turned it back to the channel I started with (ch 11) as I wasn't sure whether it may cause problems if I didn't ??

Where can I see this menu option?
  • This problem is still happening. Strangely, it doesn't happen when I'm connected to my mum's wireless which is also provided by SKY.

    Any ideas?!
