Found a massive pin in a new pillowcase!!

Well, as the title suggests, I found a nice big fat sharp pin sewn into the edge of a (quite expensive) pillowcase I bought yesterday. Just taken it out of the packet to wash and stabbed myself in the hand!!!
Shall I just take it back to the shop for an exchange or send it back to the manufacturer (sp?)
thanks

Is the pillowcase damaged? If not why does it need to be returned?
Many blouses and pillowcases and other items are packed using pins. Adults are expected to take due care and unpack such items carefully not so much to avoid pricks but to avoid tearing the item.0 -

Never known a pillow case to have pins in the packaging. Even shirts with pins in the packaging are rare these days.0 -
I would call the retailer up and ask for the message to be passed onto their suppliers and leave it at that if the pillowcase is fineThe Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

Personally I would go further than that. It requires an investigation and tightening of procedures.0 -

The pillow isn't damaged but the pin seems to be sewn into the 'frill' part around the edge of the pillow. I'd have to unpick part of the pillow to get the pin out!
Also, its not what I would expect for a packaging pin as its quite large and fat!0 -

Come off it, you would not expect to find a pin in a pillowcase, it could actually cause someone a lot of damage.
Personally I would complain big style to the shop where it was bought.0 -

If you can't get the pin out go back to the shop for an exchange.
If you can get the pin out send it back to the manufacturers because they'll be one short.0 -
Take it back to the shop.
I had a broken sewing machine needle in the inside seam of a skirt. I didn't realise it was there until I went to the toilet and it scratched my thigh when I lifted the skirt up.
I took it back to Dorothy Perkins who apologised. They filled in some forms for investigation with the supplier, replaced the skirt and said I could pick any other item up to the value of £20 as compensation. I never expected that so I was happy with that. Here I go again on my own....0
