kitchen fitting costs

I have a quote from B&Q for supplying & fitting kitchen. The units & other bits are as quoted in their brochure minus of course the wonderful discounts & special offers(!) but I need to check out the fitting costs as they look a bit steep to me. I am getting an independent company to quote as well but any comments on these prices would be really helpful. Too many items to list them all but the ones that jump out are: install integrated dishwasher £149, fit 6m solid wooden worktop £288, install radial socket inc cooker socket £299, install range cooker £229, install integrated cooker hood £119, extend gas supply up to 3m £186, loads more bringing total fitting costs to just under £6K. I've never replaced a kitchen before & have no idea whether these prices are cheap, reasonable or extortionate.

they are par for the course. and a rip off. moben wickes howdens etc charge much the same.
better to buy all your materials yourself and then get a fitter to supply labour only.
1 weeks work max. 500/1000 quid.
    Get some gorm.

We bought our kitchen from B & Q, but are getting it fitted by a kitchen fitter we know, who is charging £1000, this dosnt include doing the tiling or flooring.

i just had my kitchen done, my builders had an account at Howdens so we used that. You get a much sturdier kitchen 17mm pre built units but i did source my own appliances. Builder fitted it for £1000 got the whole new kitchen for £5k and we do have a large kitchen.
Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

thanks folks for your replies. I have an independent kitchen person coming next week, I'll see if I get quoted something more reasonable. I'm happy to pay someone reasonably for their skills and expertise but I just don't feel comfortable with the B&Q stuff. Its funny how the final price exactly matched a rough figure we were given to start with before we had even discussed what we wanted!
