Ebay or elsewhere?

I have a few items to sell varying in value but starting from about £50, they are very different items to each other and I hope to have quite a few more in the future, I'm not looking to be a niche seller but would like to sell these items as a handy sideline, again not specialising in anything, just selling stuff, what would be my best way forward, would it be ebay? Not much of a fan of buying from there but have never sold on there, but I already have an account and I also have a paypal account, is there a viable alternative to ebay? Any ideas and suggestions welcome:)
Thank you for this site Martin

Just give it a go! I've used EBay since it started and haven't had any real problems with it.

Unless you are looking at sharing a shop or something similar to that I can't see any viable alternative to ebay really. Just make sure you can cover your costs, listing fees, FVFs and paypal fees, as well as tax etc and still make a profit. I've seen too many small sellers go to the wall within months of starting as they failed to work out the bottom line profit figure.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Make sure that you check out all of the costs, fees and postage to be sure you will make a profit. For items over 41 pounds you will need to use a carrier or Special Delivery if you wish it to be insured.0
