Hi,
I am after some software that will update my mp3 file names that I have saved to my pc. At the moment they are really long, band name, track name, track number, etc etc.
Is there free software out there that will search your mp3 tracks and update from the internet to a more manageable track title?
Ta!

Mp3Tag - http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
Excellent, free piece of software. I use it for mass-tagging my mp3 collection.
It does have online capabilities, but I've not really used them.
If the tags for your files are ok, you can get it rename the physical file accordingly. I usually go the other way in that my files are well named, and I generate the tag from the filename. The software is able to work both ways though."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Agree, mp3tag is superb. So long as your MP3 are in directories (i.e. as an album), mp3tag will find the names online from freedb.
<they are really long, band name, track name, track number, etc etc<
mp3tag has very powerful facilities for 'decoding' filenames into the correct parts of artist, album, song, track # and pasting these into the mp3 tags for you.0 -
have to go with olly on this now. Have downloaded both but media monkey seems to be better all round0
