Can anybody help? Don't know what is eating my strawberries. There is netting over the top, but everytime the strawberries are nearly ready something eats them.

Is the netting loose and just resting on top of the plants? Birds are pretty skilled at standing on the netting so they can peck through to the fruit.

Have put netting all the way round. Don't think the birds can get in - but as you say they are very skillfull.

Slugs - they love 'em - have a munch & then go & hide under the soil again.

You need to straw up (or something) under the plants.

Hi. I have had straw under the plants for quite a while. It is in a pot, which we moved to a different place last night. Think it might be something in the pot, but not sure what

Definately ants were eating mine, I stood and watched 'em doing it. Just as they were almost ready to pick. Do you see any ants?

Ants will eat the strawberries but only after something else has started the damage, such as slugs, birds or mice. Birds will sit on the netting and peck if it is not raised above the plant, could it be that? In a pot put a couple of slug pellets to sort them out, if you are not totally averse to them.
