Times Subscription increases

Has any existing Times subscriber like me realised how significantly the price has moved over the past years?
I paid £3.00 a week in 2005/6, £3.25pw in 2006/7, £4 in 2007/8, £4.50 in 2008/9, £5 in 2009/10 and now it is increasing to £6! This represents a doubling in 5 years.
Appreciate it is still 25% cheaper than the cover price, but is this the biggest increase of any consumer item over this period? I assume I am subsidising the Times efforts to increase the number of their subscribers and to charge for their web site.
Sorry Mr Murdoch, I am cancelling. I will retain the Sunday Times only subscription (10% discount i.e. £1.80pw) as I would still buy this. You then retain access to their web site - that said, BBC/Sky news as as good, can't see why you'd pay separately just for the Times web.
